Be Courageous

As we head towards a new year, we head towards a new slate. Many of us will be making New Year's Resolutions and many of us will not be keeping them. However, with this new year, there are a few things I would like to challenge you with. Be courageous. Try things for the Lord that you wouldn't normally do. Make mistakes. You only fail when you don't try. "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." -Joshua 1:9 "What then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?" -Romans 8:31 "My flash and heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." -Psalm 73:26 Here is my final challenge: Take whichever verse hit home with you the most from this post and memorize it coming into the new year. You won't regret it.

Rest in God

I know, I'm bad at posting regularly. But hey, better late than never, right? At least I'm posting something now.      One of the things that I have been learning lately is to rest in God. We tend to get so caught up in the things of this life that we forget to just spend some time relaxing with Jesus. I'm sure most of you know the story of Mary and Martha (Luke 10:38-42). This was back in Jesus' day and he was going to visit a family he was friends with and their names were Mary, Martha, and Lazarus. Now Martha, of course wanted everything to be perfect for Jesus to come over. And can you blame her? I mean, He's kind of the Savior of mankind.       So anyways, here Martha is, totally stressing out for dinner to be prepared and perfect, after most likely spending the day getting the house spick and span before Jesus arrived. And get this: while Martha is doing all of this hard work for Jesus, her sister Mary is just sitting at H...

Wise Words

A wise friend shared this quote with me and I found it very inspiring, so I'm sharing it here for you: "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.' We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same. As we're liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." --Marianne Williamson

All The Time

God is good all the time. Yeah yeah yeah, we've heard this before. But do we really believe it? My challenge for you is this: No matter what you are going through, be it good or bad, know that God is good and more than just know it, believe it. He will never let you fall.

Psalm 119

So, I've started doing this devotional for girls on what living a life like that shown in Psalm 119 would look like. Now I'm not super consistent in working on this due to my busy schedule, but I have the first chapter done. I would really like you to take about five minutes to do it (posted below), because not only would I like feedback, but would love for you to grow from it. Hope you enjoy! Aleph: Becoming Blessed Verses: Ps. 119:1-8             Okay, so did you actually read the verses? Come on, you won’t know what I’m talking about if you don’t!             Alright, now we’re ready! So those verses were pretty intense, huh? Being blameless? Seeking God with all your heart? What does that even mean? And isn’t it impossible to do nothing wrong?             This chapter starts off right away with talki...

What Journey?

Hey ladies, welcome to my new blog! You may be wondering what this whole thing is about. Recently, I decided to start writing some devotional stuff on Psalm 119, and thought this would be a good place to post it. Also, I really feel like I needed some place where fellow teenaged girls can go to be encouraged in God's Word and know that they are not alone in their struggles. This page is all about journeying in faith and learning not to walk by sight alone. So, I hope you join my journey of faith and find this helpful. :)
